Stars in various kigo

***** Location: Japan. Worldwide Sky
***** Season: Various, see below
***** Category: Heavens

*****************************
Explanation

The word STAR just like that (hoshi 星) is not a kigo in Japan.

But since the stars are with us almost every night throughout the year, there are many words connected with it.
Let us go through the seasons.

Lyrid meteor shower こと座流星群

The Lyrids
are a strong meteor shower lasting from April 16 to April 26[1] each year. The radiant of the meteor shower is located in the constellation Lyra, peaking at April 22—hence they are also called the Alpha Lyrids or April Lyrids. The source of the meteor shower is the periodic Comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher. The Lyrids have been observed for the past 2600 years.

Dear Gabi san
I like the kigo very much.
One of my favorite is by Ryuuta Iida

hoshizukiyo kokoro tadayou monogotoshi

Innumerable stars
Looks like floated algae
In my mind

By Ryuuta

Hon-i(basic meaning)
Hoshitsukiyo is a praise of word for autumn stars
It means innumerable stars and no moon in the sky
Brighten depth of the night sky

When you look at the sky
You will be notice on your moving mind like algae in deep sea
